Job Description
Sunwell is a new, family-owned smoothie and coffee shop opening in Bellevue, WA. We're creating a neighborhood space centered around thoughtfully made drinks, quality ingredients, and genuine hospitality, a place where our community can slow down, recharge, and enjoy a little more sunshine in their day.
As we prepare to open our doors, we're looking for a Full-Time Cafe Team Member to join our founding team!
This role will primarily focus on preparing our matcha drinks and smoothies, taking customer orders, and providing a welcoming guest experience. We're looking for someone who is friendly, dependable, detail-oriented, and excited to learn. Previous cafe experience is a plus, but a great attitude and willingness to learn are just as important to us.
What You'll DoPrepare Sunwell smoothies, matcha drinks, and other non-espresso beverages according to our recipes and standardsTake customer orders and operate the POS/register accurately and efficientlyGreet guests and provide friendly, attentive customer serviceLearn our full menu, ingredients, recipes, and product offeringsHelp guests navigate the menu and answer questions about ingredientsPrepare ingredients and complete daily prep for smoothies and beveragesHelp with opening, closing, and daily cleaning responsibilities, including washing dishes, cleaning, restocking, and keeping work areas organizedFollow food safety and sanitation standardsWork efficiently during busy service periodsSupport the barista and other team members as neededHelp create a warm and welcoming environment for both new and returning guestsNaturally attentive to customer preferences and small details, with a genuine desire to build relationships, remember returning guests, and create experiences that keep customers coming backWhat We're Looking ForPrevious cafe, restaurant, smoothie shop, or customer service experience is preferred, but not requiredExcellent communication and customer service skillsFriendly, positive, and comfortable interacting with customersReliable, punctual, and responsibleStrong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes consistentlyAbility to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environmentWillingness to learn and ability to receive coaching and constructive feedbackPride and care in your workAbility to work independently while also being a great teammateScheduling flexibility, including weekend availabilityValid Washington Food Worker Card, or ability to obtain oneAbility to stand and walk for extended periods and lift/carry up to 25 lbsExperience making matcha or smoothies is a plus, but we're happy to train the right person.
Most importantly, we're looking for someone who enjoys taking care of people. Whether you're making someone's morning matcha, blending their favorite smoothie, or simply greeting a regular by name, we want every interaction at Sunwell to feel warm and genuine.
