Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking an energetic, personable, and reliable Bartender to join the team at Spicy Lanka , a Sri Lankan restaurant in Richmond Hill, Queens. The ideal candidate provides warm, attentive service, works well in a fast-paced restaurant environment, and is comfortable preparing cocktails, wine, beer, spirits, and non-alcoholic beverages. Knowledge of Sri Lankan food and culture is highly preferred. Candidates who speak Tamil or Sinhala in addition to English are strongly encouraged to apply. Familiarity with South Asian cuisine is also a plus. We are looking for someone who can engage with guests, make recommendations, learn our food and beverage menu, maintain a clean and organized bar, and work closely with our servers and kitchen team. For the server posting , I would make Sri Lankan-food knowledge even more prominent because servers will need to explain dishes such as kottu, hoppers, string hoppers, curries, sambols, etc. I'd say: Previous knowledge of Sri Lankan cuisine is highly preferred. Knowledge of South Asian cuisine is a plus. English communication skills are required, and the ability to speak Tamil or Sinhala is highly preferred.
Pay:
From $18.00 per hour Expected hours: No more than 40.0 per week
