The Role We are looking for an Experienced Mixologist & Front of House Manager who can bring creativity and expertise to our bar while helping lead the overall front-of-house experience. Your primary role will be behind the bar, crafting exceptional cocktails, engaging guests, developing beverage offerings and creating the kind of experience that makes people want to return. At the same time, you will serve as a key front-of-house leader. You will help set the tone for hospitality across the restaurant, support and coach the front-of-house team, and make sure the guest experience is consistent from the moment someone walks through the door until they leave. This is a hands-on role for someone who genuinely enjoys hospitality and understands that a great bar is about much more than what is in the glass. It is about conversation, connection, discovery and making people feel at home. You will also be a steward of the house itself. The Hopwood House is a historic property, and caring for the details is an important part of the role.
What You'll Do:
Lead the Bar Experience Create and serve exceptional cocktails, wine, spirits and beer with consistency, creativity , and attention to detail. Develop and refine cocktails and beverage offerings that reflect the character of The Hopwood House. Introduce guests to new drinks and flavors in an approachable, engaging way. Know our beverage offerings well enough to confidently make recommendations based on individual guest preferences. Create a bar environment that is welcoming to both the cocktail enthusiast and the guest who simply wants their favorite beer or glass of wine. Build relationships with regular guests while making first-time visitors feel immediately comfortable. Maintain high standards for presentation, quality, cleanliness and responsible alcohol service. Manage bar inventory, restocking , and beverage quality. Help control beverage costs and minimize waste without compromising the guest experience. Help Lead the Front of House Serve as a visible leader during service and help ensure the entire restaurant operates smoothly. Set the standard for warm, genuine and attentive hospitality. Support servers, bartenders, hosts , and other front-of-house team members during service. Jump in wherever needed to support the team and the guest experience. Help train and coach team members on hospitality, menu knowledge and service standards. Help create a culture where employees care about one another, the guests , and the success of Hopwood House. Address guest concerns thoughtfully and professionally. Help manage service flow, staffing needs and front-of-house priorities during busy periods. Communicate closely with the kitchen and ownership to ensure a seamless experience for guests. Be a Steward of Hopwood House Help preserve the character, beauty and traditions of this historic property. Take pride in the appearance and atmosphere of the bar and front-of-house spaces. Pay attention to the details that shape the guest experience from cleanliness and lighting to music, presentation and hospitality. Learn the history and story of Hopwood House and help bring that story to life for guests. Help balance the traditions and familiar experiences people love with thoughtful new ideas. Help create the feeling that guests are visiting somewhere special but never feel like outsiders. What We're Looking For We are looking for an experienced bartender or mixologist who is ready to take on a larger leadership role within a restaurant.
The right person will:
Have proven experience as a bartender, mixologist or beverage professional. Have strong knowledge of cocktails, spirits, wine , and beer. Be creative and curious about food and beverage trends without chasing trends simply for the sake of being trendy. Have excellent interpersonal and customer-service skills. Enjoy talking with people and making genuine connections. Be confident recommending drinks and guiding guests toward something they will enjoy. Have strong attention to detail and pride in presentation. Be comfortable taking a leadership role with a front-of-house team. Be organized and able to manage multiple priorities during busy service. Have experience with POS systems and cash handling. Understand responsible alcohol service and applicable food and beverage safety requirements. Be willing to work evenings, weekends, special events, and holidays as needed. Be willing to roll up your sleeves and help wherever the team needs you. Most importantly... Pay:
