Bellperson Hotel Clark Los Angeles, CA Job Details Part-time | Full-time $25 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications Customer communication High school diploma or GED Full Job Description Job Overview The Bellperson is responsible for creating a warm, welcoming, and helpful first impression for guests at Hotel Clark. This position assists guests with luggage, escorts guests to and from rooms as needed, provides information about hotel services and the surrounding area, supports arrivals and departures, and helps maintain a clean, organized, and inviting lobby and entrance experience. Success in this role requires a genuine passion for hospitality, strong communication skills, attentiveness to guest needs, and the ability to work safely and professionally in a fast-paced, guest-facing environment. This is a non-supervisory, non-managerial hourly position reporting to the Front Office Supervisor. Job Responsibilities Guest Arrival, Departure & Luggage Assistance Welcome arriving guests with a warm and professional greeting and offer luggage assistance promptly. Assist guests with loading, unloading, transporting, storing, and retrieving luggage and personal items safely and carefully. Escort guests to their rooms as needed and explain hotel amenities, room features, elevator access, and general property information. Assist departing guests by retrieving luggage, helping with transportation arrangements, and providing a courteous farewell. Maintain accurate luggage storage procedures, including proper tagging, organization, and security of guest belongings. Support group arrivals and departures by staging luggage, assisting with flow in the lobby, and coordinating with the Front Office team. Provide information about hotel services, local attractions, restaurants, transportation options, directions, and nearby points of interest. Monitor the lobby, entrance, and guest arrival areas to anticipate guest needs and provide proactive assistance. Assist guests with packages, deliveries, wheelchairs, umbrellas, and other guest service items in accordance with hotel procedures. Follow established company and brand service standards in all guest interactions. Complete assigned shift duties and communicate open items to the Front Office Supervisor or manager on duty at shift change. Daily Operations Perform bell and lobby duties during assigned shifts in accordance with established procedures and priorities set by the Front Office Supervisor. Review daily arrival, departure, group, VIP, and special request information to prepare for anticipated guest needs. Keep the lobby, bell stand, luggage storage area, hotel entrance, and related guest areas clean, organized, and presentable. Coordinate with Front Desk, Housekeeping, Valet, Engineering, Security, and Food and Beverage to support guest requests and smooth operations. Maintain bell carts, wheelchairs, luggage tags, package logs, and guest service supplies in good order. Report equipment, facility, safety, or guest service issues to the Front Office Supervisor or manager on duty promptly. Guest Service & Service Recovery Listen attentively to guest questions, concerns, and requests and provide helpful support within established guidelines. Escalate guest complaints, service concerns, safety matters, and requests that fall outside established guidelines to the Front Office Supervisor or manager on duty. Follow up with guests when appropriate to confirm their needs have been addressed. Assist with VIP, special-occasion, accessible accommodation, and special-request arrivals as directed. Recognize opportunities to personalize the guest experience through thoughtful, attentive, and courteous service. Maintain a calm, professional, and welcoming presence during busy arrival and departure periods. Lobby, Entrance & Guest Support Assist with maintaining an inviting entrance, lobby, bell stand, and guest waiting areas throughout each shift. Open doors, assist with vehicle arrivals when needed, and provide directions to hotel services or nearby destinations. Receive, log, store, and deliver guest packages, luggage, and other items in accordance with hotel procedures. Assist Front Desk with room moves, key delivery, amenity delivery, and guest errands as assigned. Protect guest privacy and maintain confidentiality when handling guest information, belongings, room numbers, and requests. Administrative & Operational Responsibilities Maintain accurate logs for luggage storage, package handling, deliveries, shift activity, and guest requests. Complete assigned checklists, shift reports, and required documentation accurately and on time. Follow company policies, operating procedures, guest service standards, key control procedures, and brand requirements. Use hotel radios, phones, communication tools, and systems professionally and in accordance with hotel procedures. Support the Front Office team with reasonable guest service and operational tasks as assigned. Communication & Teamwork Participate in shift briefings and stay informed of daily arrivals, departures, VIPs, groups, events, guest concerns, and service expectations. Communicate guest needs, luggage activity, package issues, service requests, and safety concerns clearly to the Front Office Supervisor and other departments. Coordinate with Front Desk, Housekeeping, Valet, Engineering, Security, and Food and Beverage to support guest needs. Support fellow team members and contribute to a positive, professional, and collaborative work environment. Complete all required company, brand, service, and safety training within assigned timeframes. Safety & Security Follow all company safety policies, emergency procedures, and brand standards, and complete all assigned safety and workplace training. Use proper body mechanics and safe lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying techniques when handling luggage, packages, bell carts, and guest belongings. Immediately report guest or workplace incidents, injuries, safety hazards, suspicious activity, and any violent or threatening conduct to the Front Office Supervisor, manager on duty, or Security. Follow key control, guest privacy, luggage storage, package handling, and hotel security procedures at all times. Comply with all applicable federal, state, and local workplace, safety, and employment requirements.
