Broomfield FISH is a food pantry and family resource center whose mission is to meet our neighbors' basic human needs and help prevent hunger and homelessness. The Warehouse and Marketplace Assistant supports FISH's food operations by receiving and storing food and other essential items and keeping the Marketplace stocked, clean, safe, and organized. During Marketplace shopping hours, this position works alongside volunteers and Participant Program Advocates to support participants, maintain an orderly shopping environment, and uphold FISH's service and safety standards. Essential Duties Monitor Marketplace inventory and retrieve and stock items from the warehouse. Receive, weigh, record, organize, and properly store food donations. Load and unload food and supplies using appropriate equipment and safe material-handling practices. Prepare food-delivery items and assist with other food-distribution activities. Maintain clean, organized, and safe Marketplace, warehouse, vehicle, refrigerator, and freezer areas. Support and provide direction to volunteers during Marketplace operations. Assist participants in a warm, welcoming, respectful, and equitable manner. Promote FISH culture of kindness, compassion, accessibility and belonging. Follow FISH's safety, sanitation, food-handling, and public-health procedures. Work collaboratively with staff, volunteers, donors, community partners, and participants. Occasionally operate FISH's box truck or transit van to pick up food and supplies (NO CDL required) Minimum Qualifications Dependable attendance and ability to work the established schedule. Ability to complete assigned tasks independently and collaboratively. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability and willingness to work respectfully with people from diverse backgrounds. Ability to follow safety, food-handling, inventory, and recordkeeping procedures. Spanish-language skills preferred but not required. Working proficiency with Gmail, Google Chat, and Google Sheets preferred. Must be at least 25 years old, as required by FISH's commercial automobile insurance carrier. Valid driver's license and a driving record that meets FISH's vehicle-safety and commercial automobile insurance requirements. Experience safely operating a box truck, cargo van, or comparable vehicle preferred. A commercial driver's license is not required for the vehicles currently assigned to this position. Physical and Environmental Requirements This position regularly involves standing, walking, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, and loading and unloading food and supplies. The employee must be able to frequently lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds and occasionally move items weighing up to 75 pounds, using available assistance or equipment when appropriate. The position includes occasional work outdoors in varying weather conditions and inside walk-in refrigerators and freezers. These essential functions must be performed with or without reasonable accommodation. Compensation and Benefits The anticipated hourly wage range is $21.00-$26.00. The starting wage within this range will be based on relevant experience, qualifications, and internal equity. Minimally qualified applicants should generally expect a starting wage in the bottom third of the range.
