The Waterview belongs to the Elegant Banquets family of facilities that have been proudly hosting elegant events since 1986. Our three other Connecticut venues include The Riverview, which opened in 2008, The Candlewood Inn, which opened in 1999, and The Fox Hill Inn, which opened in 1986. Job Description The Waterview is looking for an energetic and experienced individual to join our Events Team. As a Banquet Assistant, you will act as a right hand to our Event Managers and help them to supervise the setup, execution and tear down for our catered events. A key member of our Front of House team, you will make sure that the tables are decorated correctly, the food is presented well, and service goes off without a hitch. You will help the Event Manager to supervise the waitstaff, making sure that they are in uniform and providing exceptional service to our guests. You will also be a liaison to the Chefs and Cooking staff. The Waterview hosts an average of eight events every weekend, most of which average 150+ guests. This position will average 30-35 hours per week, and require availability on Friday (evening), Saturday and Sunday. Requirements We're looking for an experienced professional who can hit the ground running.

Our requirements include:

• At least 2 years in a catering operations/banquet service position in a full-service banquet facility, resort or hotel.
• High school diploma is required; college/culinary degree is helpful.
• Able to communicate effectively, both verbally and written, in English.
• Knowledge of food and beverage preparation, service standards, guest relations and etiquette.
• Ability to lift and carry up to fifty (50) pounds at a time.
• Ability to perform various activities such as constant standing, walking, frequent bending, reaching, kneeling and squatting.
• Self-motivated with excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work well with people in a team environment.
• Ability to function in a fast-paced environment, under short time constraints and within established deadlines.
