Job Description

Essential Functions:
  • -Clean equipment and storage, food preparation and serving areas for the
    purpose of maintaining required sanitary conditions.
  • -Evaluate prepared food for temperature, flavor and appearance.
  • -Inspect food items and/or supplies for the purpose of verifying quantity, quality
    and specifications of orders and/or complying with mandated health standards.
  • -Inventory food and supplies for the purpose of ensuring availability of items
    required for meeting projected menu requirements and report shortages to the
    Kitchen Manager.
  • -Maintain records and reports (i.e. counting and recording the number of leftovers,
    equipment temp logs and other HACCP logs).
  • -Help and assist other workers with joint tasks when other assigned tasks are
    completed.
  • -Prepare food items according to standardized recipes and established food
    preparation procedures to meet mandated nutritional and projected meal
    requirements.
  • -Check in orders and ensure all food items are received in good condition and in
    temperature guidelines.
  • -Work in a kitchen with a rotating schedule so that all facets of kitchen
    assignments including dishwashing and register duties are learned.
  • -Willing to cover shifts, as needed, throughout the district kitchens.
