Job Description:
Job Summary Reports to both Directors in Retail and Residential Dining and Senior Director of Dining Services. Responsible for receiving and inspecting food deliveries at all CAS operated locations, maintaining inventory, stocking supplies, and performing routine preventive maintenance on food service equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and uninterrupted kitchen operations. Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Food Service Receiving Receive and inspect all food, beverages, and supply deliveries. Verify quantities, quality, expiration dates, and temperatures of delivered products. Compare deliveries against purchase orders, requisitions and invoices, checking for accuracy (pack size, quantity requested, and correct item codes). Process and copy all invoices and submit them immediately to the Dining Services Accounts Clerk. Report shortages, damages, or discrepancies to management immediately. Date and properly store products using FIFO (First In, First Out) inventory rotation. Maintain receiving logs and delivery records with temperature taking log. Stock Clerk Duties Organize and stock food, beverages, paper products, and cleaning supplies. Assist in maintaining par levels twice a week, to ensure accurate ordering. Monitor inventory levels and notify supervisors when supplies need replenishment. Maintain cleanliness, check for proper temperature daily, organized storage rooms, refrigerators, and freezers. Rotate inventory to minimize waste and spoilage. Assist with monthly and annual inventory counts. Deliver supplies to kitchen and serving areas as needed. Process requisitions and deliver food and supplies to correct Campus units daily, checking for accuracy (pack size, quantity requested and correct item codes). Maintain security of storage areas within CAS, reporting any security and/or safety risks to management immediately. Will be called upon as situations arise (at any hour) to empty Dining Services cooler/freezer units to prevent loss of product/spoilage while securing food safety and sanitary storage conditions. Transportation Duties Transport or assign personnel to deliver food, goods, Catering equipment and supplies as needed by operations throughout CAS both campus-wide including off-campus functions. Ensure that all CAS vehicles are in proper working condition and related paperwork and decals are valid and tires, oil changes, operating fluids etc. are maintained consistently. Vehicles are to be kept clean |& safely parked and secured in designated areas. Ensure Monthly Vehicle Inspections are completed for all CAS vehicles on a Monthly basis. Preventive Maintenance of Equipment Perform routine inspections with Managers & Chefs of kitchen and food service equipment to ensure longevity & maintenance. Clean and maintain equipment according to manufacturer's recommendations. Replace basic wear items such as filters, gaskets, and light bulbs when appropriate. Report equipment malfunctions requiring repair. Maintain preventive maintenance schedules and records. (Example-Clean Ice Machine, Clean Cooler Coils, etc?.) at the end of every semester, or as needed. Alert supervisor for reporting to maintenance personnel or outside service vendors for major repairs. Ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently. Monitor all coolers/freezers and enter onto log sheets daily. Let management know if any issue arises, ASAP. Painting, lighting, and repairs in CAS areas. Work with supervisor who will coordinate with campus Facilities, the submission of facility work orders. Monitor any build-up of mold/residual /standing water in cooler units and ice machines. Monthly maintenance of ice machines and all beverage ice dispensers, empty and clean ice machines. Monitor and ensure that drains are clean and properly working and are not clogged. Wash exterior of all CAS vehicles twice a semester or as needed. Interior should be cleaned once at the beginning and end of each semester or as needed. Safety and Sanitation Follow all food safety and sanitation regulations. Maintain compliance with OSHA and local health department standards. Use proper lifting techniques and personal protective equipment (PPE). Keep work areas clean and free of hazards. Dispose of waste according to established procedures.
Tools and equipment used:
Refrigeration units, scales, hand trucks, lift gates, pallets and pallet jacks, elevator, carts, cleaning equipment, BBQ grills, snow blowers, as well as propane air tanks. Assist in other areas as requested by management.

Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED preferred. Previous experience in food service, receiving, warehouse, or inventory control, preferred. Basic mechanical aptitude for equipment maintenance. Ability to operate small hand tools and power equipment. Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices. Pass ServSafe Certification. Ability to operate pallet jacks, carts, and other material handling equipment. Must always hold a valid NY State Driver's License and be able to operate all CAS Dining Service' vehicles with automatic and/or manual transmissions.
Working Conditions:
Commercial kitchen and food storage areas. Exposure to hot and cold temperatures. (-20 to 100 degrees F.) Moderate noise levels. Weekend, holiday, and evening work may be required.
Physical Requirements:
Frequently lift and carry up to 100 pounds. Stand, walk, bend, reach, sit, and climb for extended periods. Work in refrigerated, freezer, and kitchen environments. (-20 to 100 degrees F.) Ability to push and pull loaded carts and stock. Work with some chemical cleaning agents. Clean, neat and professional uniform, always. Must meet food handler standards.
