Food Counter Attendant - Bonanza's 1897, Oyster Bay, NY Join the team at Bonanza's 1897, a family-owned Oyster Bay tradition serving the community since 1897 at our landmark location. We are looking for an enthusiastic, dependable, and customer-focused Food Counter Attendant who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate has a positive attitude, greets every customer with a smile, and is committed to providing outstanding service, especially during our busy downtown hours and peak summer season. In this role, you will prepare and serve food, operate the register, maintain a clean and organized work area, and help create a welcoming atmosphere that keeps customers coming back. Teamwork, professionalism, and a willingness to assist wherever needed are essential. Responsibilities Greet every customer with a friendly, welcoming attitude and provide exceptional customer service. Take customer orders accurately using the POS system and process cash and credit card transactions. Prepare and serve menu items according to Bonanza's quality standards and food safety guidelines. Work efficiently during busy downtown hours, weekends, holidays, and special events while maintaining a positive attitude. Suggest menu items and specials to enhance the customer experience. Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary food counter, dining, and preparation areas. Safely operate kitchen and food service equipment. Restock food, beverages, cups, condiments, and supplies throughout the day. Assist with opening, closing, and daily cleaning duties as assigned. Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health regulations. Work cooperatively with team members to ensure fast, friendly, and efficient service. Handle customer questions and concerns professionally and courteously. Qualifications Previous food service, restaurant, ice cream, or quick-service experience is preferred but not required. Friendly, outgoing personality with excellent customer service skills. Must enjoy working with the public and creating a positive experience for every customer. Ability to remain calm, pleasant, and professional during busy periods. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Basic math skills and cash handling experience. Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds. Reliable, punctual, and willing to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and peak summer hours.
