ASSISTANT DINING ROOM MANAGER
General Description of Work The Chechessee Creek Assistant Dining Room Manager is responsible for assisting management of dining room and working very closely with dining room manager including inventory control and providing service in the manner most pleasing to members and their guests. Assure a high standard of appearance, hospitality, and service in personnel and cleanliness of dining room. Supervise and train dining room staff; manage within budgetary restraints; develop/implement programs to increase revenues. Essential Functions The following functions are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work performed. The omission of specific duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related or a logical assignment to the position. Assist in schedules personnel and plans dining room set-up based upon anticipated member/guest counts and client needs. Assist in taking reservations and checks table reservation schedules. Greets and seats members and guests. Carefully supervises the dining room and bar staff when the dining room manager is not available or schedule off to help assure proper service; pours coffee and takes orders when necessary. Inspects dining room employees to ensure that they are in proper and clean uniforms at all times. Receives and resolves complaints concerning food, beverages, and service. Serves as liaison between the dining room and kitchen staff. Assures that all side work is accomplished and that all cleaning of equipment and storage areas is completed according to schedule. Directs pre-meal meetings with dining room personnel, ensures staff is familiar with daily menus (including proper pronunciation) and specials. Relays information and policy changes and briefs personnel. Assures the correct appearance, cleanliness, and safety of dining room areas, equipment, and fixtures. Checks the maintenance of all equipment in the dining room and reports deficiencies and maintenance concerns. Makes suggestions about improvements in dining room service procedures and layout. Assures that the dining room and other club areas are secure at the end of the business day. Help with Maintains an inventory of dining room items including flatware, silverware, glassware and all small wares associated with dining room operations. Ensures proper storage and inventory of these items and reorders as necessary to maintain the proper par of these items. Helps maintains the dining room reservation system. Works with dining room manager to implement an on-going marketing program to increase dining room business. Works with dining room manager develops and supervises the point of sale system to ensure revenue and inventory control of food, beer, wine, and liquor. Develops and continually updates and refines policy and procedure manuals for service staff to increase quality and to control costs. Attends scheduled staff meetings. Physical Requirements The work requires the regular exertion of up to 25 pounds of force and frequent exertion of up to 25 pounds of force; work regularly requires standing for long periods of time, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling, bending, stretching, and twisting or reaching, using hands to finger, handling or feeling and repetitive motions, pushing, pulling or lifting up to 50 pounds. Work requires exposure and handling of hot and cold food items and equipment; work has regular vision requirements, vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; work requires preparing and analyzing written or computer data, using measuring devices and observing general surroundings and activities; work has some exposure to environmental conditions. Work in hot, humid, and noisy environment with light traffic.
