Key Duties Floor Stock & Snack Operations Prepare, bag, and label individual snack items; stock bulk nourishment refrigerators per PAR levels. Follow FDA Food Code guidelines for snack/nourishment handling. Deliver snacks to unit refrigerators per the daily schedule. Restock the nourishment prep area to PAR levels; inspect and remove expired items. Prepare and push nourishment carts to units per the delivery schedule. Conduct nourishment inventory using FIFO (First In, First Out) rotation. Verify and log delivery timing. Remove cardboard boxes to the designated area. Sanitation Spot-clean floors, tables, and equipment after spills or dropped items. Perform surface cleaning per the 2022 FDA Food Code. Clean and sanitize equipment inside and out. Remove outdated items from refrigerators daily.
Manage trash:
tie/remove bags, replace liners, keep receptacles covered, clean cans as scheduled. Mop floors and clean floor mats daily. Clean spills/splashes on walls, baseboards, and equipment immediately. Break down cardboard and move it to the recycling area. Complete daily/weekly/monthly cleaning duties (walk-ins, sinks, carts, dishwashers, shelves, vent hood, ice/beverage machines, floors).
Kitchen / Dishware
Washing Operations Move pots and pans to the wash area during food prep. Wash using the 3-sink method per the 2022 FDA Food Code; log water temperature/sanitation levels; report non-compliance. Air-dry items fully before shelving. Mop/clean the pot-and-pan area; post wet-floor signage as needed. Retrieve dirty tray carts from units per schedule; break down carts (dishes/utensils/cups sorted to bins). Shred tray tickets; scrap food and paper waste. Load and monitor the dishwasher; log dish machine temperature; report non-compliance. Clean and sanitize delivery/retrieval carts; drain liquid pans.
Perform end-of-meal cleanup:
trash, scrapper table, mop floors, organize the dish room. Report malfunctioning equipment or supply shortages to the Lead/Supervisor. Clean the dishwasher daily per the manual; de-lime and deep-clean per schedule; maintain water-softener salt. Requirements Willingness to complete ServSafe Food Handler Certification after hire (company-arranged, before first day on site). Prior food service experience preferred; on-the-job training provided for facility-specific procedures. Must pass VA background investigation/PSAC (post-hire, company-sponsored) and obtain facility badge before start. 18+, legally authorized to work in the U.S., no disqualifying criminal history. Able to stand/walk a full shift and push loaded carts (up to ~35-50 lbs of force).
