Your expertise in meat processing, slicing, trimming, and food safety will ensure that every cut meets our standards of freshness and quality. Whether working behind the counter or in the backroom, you'll be a key player in delivering delicious, safe, and beautifully prepared meat products. Responsibilities Skillfully cut, trim, and prepare various types of meats using appropriate butchery techniques and meat processing machines. Ensure all meat products are sliced accurately according to customer specifications and store standards. Maintain strict adherence to food safety sanitizing procedures, ensuring cleanliness and hygiene throughout all food handling areas. Package meat products efficiently while maintaining visual appeal and quality control standards. Conduct visual inspections to monitor quality, freshness, and safety of perishable goods, discarding any items that do not meet standards. Assist customers with their selections by providing knowledgeable advice on cuts, preparation methods, and cooking tips. Follow proper food industry regulations related to food handling, storage, and sanitation to ensure compliance with safety protocols. Experience Previous retail store experience in a food production or food preparation environment is highly preferred. Hands-on experience with meat processing machines and slicing techniques is essential. Strong knife skills and proficiency in butchery are required for precise meat cutting and trimming methods. Familiarity with food safety management practices, including sanitizing procedures and quality control inspections. Background in culinary arts or kitchen experience involving food handling of meats and fish is advantageous. Ability to perform basic math calculations for portioning and pricing accurately. Excellent customer service skills combined with a passion for food industry standards make you an ideal candidate for this energetic role.
