Duties Prepare a variety of sushi and sashimi with attention to detail, consistency, and presentation standards Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized work station in compliance with health regulations Select fresh ingredients and ensure proper storage to uphold quality and safety standards Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation and timely service Develop new sushi recipes and refine existing ones to keep the menu innovative and appealing Educate team members on sushi techniques, ingredient handling, and plating methods Monitor inventory levels of seafood, rice, seaweed, and other supplies to prevent shortages Skills Extensive experience working with seafood and proficiency in traditional sushi techniques Strong knowledge of food safety standards and sanitation practices Ability to develop new recipes and innovate within the realm of Japanese cuisine Excellent knife skills for precise slicing of fish and vegetables Familiarity with culinary tools such as rice cookers, bamboo mats, and fish filleting equipment Experience managing a busy kitchen environment with efficiency and calmness under pressure Knowledge of ingredient sourcing, storage, and freshness verification processes Passion for culinary arts with a focus on authentic Japanese food preparation Ability to work collaboratively within a team while maintaining high standards of quality Embark on a rewarding culinary journey where your skills will shine!
