Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food production and kitchen management, with experience in fine dining and catering environments. As a Sous Chef, you will assist the Executive Chef in overseeing kitchen operations, ensuring high-quality food preparation, and maintaining food safety standards. This role requires excellent leadership skills and the ability to manage a team effectively while fostering a positive work environment. Duties Assist the Executive Chef in menu planning and recipe development. Supervise kitchen staff, ensuring efficient food preparation and presentation. Oversee daily kitchen operations, including inventory management and ordering supplies. Maintain high standards of food safety and sanitation throughout the kitchen. Train and mentor kitchen staff on cooking techniques, food handling, and safety protocols. Manage food production for banquets, catering events, and restaurant service. Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service during busy shifts. Monitor inventory control to minimize waste and optimize cost efficiency. Ensure compliance with health regulations and maintain cleanliness in all areas of the kitchen. Qualifications Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role within the food industry. Strong culinary skills with knowledge of various cooking methods and cuisines. Experience in fine dining establishments is preferred. Background in banquet service or catering is a plus. Excellent leadership abilities with experience in team management and shift supervision. Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food handling. Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail. Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and other departments.
