Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking an experienced, passionate Chef/Kitchen Manager to join our growing upscale tavern concept. Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years of kitchen management experience in a high-volume restaurant environment, with strong leadership, organizational, and cost-control skills. Pizza experience is strongly recommended including dough production, pizza line execution, and wood-fired or deck oven familiarity. The ideal candidate understands how to balance quality, consistency, speed, and labor management while helping to create a positive, professional kitchen culture. Our concept focuses on elevated tavern fare, craft beer, cocktails, and high-quality pizza in a lively, hospitality-driven atmosphere. We are looking for a hands-on leader who takes pride in the product, mentors staff effectively, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Lead and supervise kitchen staff to ensure smooth daily operations and maintain high standards of food quality and safety Develop innovative menus that cater to diverse dietary needs and elevate the dining experience Oversee food production, preparation, and presentation to ensure consistency and excellence in every dish served Manage inventory control, including ordering supplies, monitoring stock levels, and minimizing waste Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain a clean, organized kitchen environment Coordinate catering events, banquets, and special functions with attention to detail and customer satisfaction Train team members in food handling, cooking techniques, and hospitality best practices to foster professional growth Requirements Proven experience in fine dining establishments with strong culinary skills and leadership capabilities Demonstrated banquet experience and background in catering or large-scale food service operations Supervising experience with a focus on team management and shift coordination Extensive knowledge of food production, menu planning, inventory management, and kitchen management systems Familiarity with dietary department procedures and food safety standards (such as HACCP) Strong background in restaurant or hospitality environments with excellent food handling skills Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining high-quality standards in a fast-paced setting Join us as a Chef where your culinary talent will shine!
