Job Description

Summary We are seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join our team at Gooding Elementary School and Gooding High School as a chef. We're looking for dependable, hardworking individuals who take pride in preparing quality meals and will be the right fit for our school nutrition team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing nutritious and delicious meals for students, ensuring that all food served meets health and safety standards. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the well-being of children and support their learning environment through healthy eating. Responsibilities Culinary skills and experience are preferred. Ensure that all meals are prepared in a safe and sanitary manner, following health and safety regulations. Monitor food inventory and assist with ordering supplies as needed. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and food storage areas. Assist with serving meals and interacting positively with students during meal times. Participate in training and professional development opportunities related to food service and nutrition. Communicate effectively with school staff, parents, and students regarding food-related inquiries and concerns. Requirements Previous experience in food preparation or culinary arts, preferably in a school or institutional setting. Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices. Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment. Strong organizational and time management skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, especially with children. Ability to lift and carry heavy items, as well as stand for extended periods. A passion for promoting healthy eating and nutrition among children. Current food handler's certification or willingness to obtain one before starting. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
