Summary We are looking for a compassionate, reliable Chef to join our culinary team. In an inpatient substance abuse treatment setting, food is more than just fuel, it is a vital part of the recovery process. You will play a key role in providing nourishing, delicious meals that help our clients regain their health and feel a sense of comfort and dignity during a challenging time in their lives.
Schedule Day shift:
10 AM to 6:30
PM Fixed Weekly Schedule:
Sunday-Thursday or Tuesday-Saturday Responsibilities Meal Preparation:
Prepare and serve nutritious breakfast, lunch, and dinner options according to established menus and standardized recipes.
Specialty Diets:
Accommodate specific dietary needs including allergies, diabetic-friendly meals, and vegetarian/vegan requests.
Safety & Sanitation:
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment. Adhere to all local health department regulations and HACCP guidelines.
Inventory Management:
Assist in receiving deliveries, rotating stock (FIFO), and ensuring ingredients are fresh and properly stored.
Client Interaction:
Serve meals with a positive, professional, and empathetic attitude toward clients in recovery.
Qualifications Experience:
Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a professional kitchen (healthcare, residential, or high-volume restaurant experience preferred).
Certification:
Must possess or be willing to obtain a ServSafe Food Handler (or Manager) certification.
Skills:
Strong knowledge of knife skills, cooking temperatures, and kitchen equipment.
Compliance:
Ability to pass comprehensive pre-employment background checks and health screenings.
Physical Ability:
