Research & Development Chef

Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dynamic and innovative Research & Development (R&D) Chef to lead the development of innovative frozen food products for both retail supermarkets and the foodservice industry. This role is perfect for an individual with extensive culinary expertise combined with hands-on experience developing products for commercial manufacturing. We are looking for someone who is passionate about food innovation, understands current consumer trends and can transform creative concepts into successful products.
Responsibilities:
Develop and test new frozen food products from concept through commercialization Create innovative recipes for retail and foodservice markets. Oversee the entire product development process from concept through tasting, refinement, and finalization for production. Improve existing products for taste, quality, cost and manufacturing efficiency. Work closely with production, quality assurance, purchasing and sales teams. Stay current on food trends, ingredients, competitor offerings to keep our culinary innovations ahead of the curve. Manage inventory control for testing ingredients and supplies needed for product development while adhering to cost control measures. Ensure all food safety sanitizing procedures are followed during development stages to maintain hygiene standards. Supervise team members involved in food preparation and testing to foster a creative yet disciplined environment. Document detailed specifications, procedures, and quality standards for all new products to facilitate smooth scaling into full production. Provide training sessions for staff on new recipes or techniques to guarantee consistency.
Qualifications:
10+ years of culinary and food product development experience preferred. Experience in frozen foods or consumer packaged goods strongly preferred E xpertise in inventory management, cost control, and kitchen management systems. Proficiency in food handling, cooking techniques, and food service management Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices within the food industry. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail under tight deadlines.
Pay:
From $100,000.00 per year
