Overview We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and a deep appreciation for Japanese cuisine. This role requires creativity, precision, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of food safety and quality. As a Sushi Chef, you will play a vital role in crafting exquisite sushi dishes that delight our guests and enhance their dining experience. Duties Prepare and present a variety of sushi dishes, including nigiri, sashimi, and rolls, with attention to detail and artistic presentation. Ensure all ingredients are fresh and of the highest quality by sourcing from reputable suppliers. Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, adhering to food safety standards at all times. Collaborate with kitchen staff to create innovative menu items that reflect seasonal ingredients and customer preferences. Conduct regular inventory checks of sushi ingredients and supplies, ensuring timely ordering to avoid shortages. Train and mentor junior kitchen staff on sushi preparation techniques and best practices. Monitor food preparation processes to ensure compliance with health regulations and safety standards. Skills Proven experience in the culinary field with a focus on sushi or Japanese cuisine. Strong knife skills and expertise in food handling techniques. Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations within the food industry. Experience in fine dining settings or high-volume restaurants is preferred. Ability to plan menus that cater to diverse dietary needs while maintaining flavor integrity. Excellent cooking skills with an emphasis on meal preparation and presentation. Previous experience in catering or food service is a plus. Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
