Full Job Description Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Sushi Chef to join our team. As a Sushi Chef, you will be responsible for preparing and presenting high-quality sushi dishes to our customers. If you have a passion for culinary arts and enjoy creating delicious and visually appealing sushi, we would love to hear from you.Responsibilities:
- Prepare a variety of sushi dishes according to established recipes and standards
- Ensure the freshness and quality of ingredients used in sushi preparation
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi station
- Adhere to food safety and sanitation guidelines
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth operations
- Assist in menu planning and development of new sushi dishes
- Monitor inventory levels and place orders for ingredients as needed
- Train and mentor junior sushi chefs, as required
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or similar role
- In-depth knowledge of sushi preparation techniques and presentation styles
- Strong understanding of food safety practices and regulations
- Excellent knife skills for precise cutting and slicing of fish and other ingredients
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Creativity in developing new sushi rolls and flavor combinations
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
