Job Description

Job Summary:
Ensures proper staffing for forecasted volume and budgetary guidelines through proper training of supervisors. Coordinates all activities in the Beverage Department relating to recruiting and selection of applicants. Maintains proficiency among the team, introducing new items on an ongoing basis.

Duties/Responsibilities:
Ensures proper staffing for forecasted volume and budgetary guidelines through proper training of supervisors. Orders all liquor, wine, and beer for the property. Monitors inventories and reports discrepancies to the director. Takes the beverage end-of-period inventory and presents it to the Department Analyst. Meets budgeted figures for labor and other expenses. Formulates administers, and enforces departmental policies and performance standards. Notifies team members and supervisors of changes in policy and procedure. Must work closely with the Department Trainer to ensure all new hires are trained both with classroom and floor programs. Ensure all existing team members are attending follow-up training sessions. Communicate any problems or concerns to the VP and other departments as needed. Coordinates all activities in the Beverage Department relating to recruiting and selection of applicants. Communicates with departments to ensure proper communication by conducting and participating in departmental meetings. Establishes performance and profit objectives for short-term and long-term goals. Maintains files in such a way that another manager can perform efficiently in the event of his/her absence. Held accountable for the accuracy and thoroughness of departmental records and reports. Promotes the Casino through goodwill and a positive attitude. Ensures a maximum level of service and satisfaction throughout the property, in the area of beverage operations, is achieved and maintained. Maintains high sanitation and safety standards. Ensures departmental compliance with applicable federal and state laws governing food & beverage. Maintains sufficient materials and products in the work location. Maintains security of products and areas assigned to the department. Ensures rotation of products. Understands that this is a 24-hour responsibility and is accessible at all times. Maintains professional grooming and appearance and acts as a role model according to established policy. Ensures that all Team Members are treated fairly and consistently. Performs any other duties as specified or assigned by the VP or any member of the Executive Management. Develop and train sales team approach with all beverage team members. All other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
Ten (10) + years of experience in restaurant and bar management Five (5) + plus years in multi-venue management Strong understanding of federal and local alcohol control laws A strategic thinker and creative problem solver who takes the initiative and leads by example Self-starter with a creative mind and a track record of putting ideas into practice and assessing results Certifications, Licenses, and/or
Registrations:
Gaming license/registration as required by jurisdiction(s).
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent organizational, analytical, and project management skills, with particular attention to quality and detail. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization. Strong business acumen and understanding of the business drivers in the industry. Demonstrates the ability to establish credibility and rapport with operating leaders. Ability to analyze data, understand trends, and develop recommendations for action based on the analysis.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to work standing and walking for hours at a time. Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds at times. Ability to work flexible shifts and days of the week, including holidays. Ability to use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms.
