Job Description
Banquet Sous Chef Western Racquet Club - Elm Grove, Wisconsin Western Racquet Club, a premier private racquet and social club in Elm Grove, Wisconsin, is seeking a skilled and motivated Banquet Sous Chef to join our culinary leadership team. This position plays a vital role in executing high-quality banquet and event dining experiences for our members and their guests. We are looking for a culinary professional who thrives in a team-oriented environment, takes pride in consistency and presentation, and can lead with professionalism during high-volume events. Position Summary The Banquet Sous Chef works directly with the Executive Chef to plan, organize, and execute all banquet and private event culinary operations. This role ensures exceptional food quality, efficient production, and a seamless event experience. Key Responsibilities
- Oversee preparation and execution of all private event food production
- Assist with events menu development, costing, and presentation standards
- Lead and supervise kitchen staff during events and peak service periods
- Ensure consistent quality, timing, and plate presentation
- Maintain food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness standards
- Assist with inventory control, ordering, and waste management
- Collaborate closely with the front-of-house team to ensure successful event execution Qualifications
- progressive culinary experience, with banquet or high-volume event experience preferred
- Strong organizational and production planning skills
- Proven ability to lead and motivate a team
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
