This includes putting charts together, flagging charts for Physician signatures, scheduling PAT, ordering equipment and supplies needed for the patient care, and working with charge nurse to assign patients to appropriate rooms and staff. Position Duties Coordinates communications for Pre-op or PACU 1. Answers all incoming calls in courteous and professional manner and triages appropriately 2. Communicates professionally and remains calm and professional during stressful situations 3. Updates the unit tracking board with patient information and nursing assignments 4. Coordinates patient placement with bed placement 5. Communicates professionally and remains calm and professional during stressful situations 6. Obtains physician orders from SCM 7. Review AMPFM dashboard routinely and works collaboratively with Admitting the day before and the day of to confirm the patient's correct name and the correct account for the visit. 8. Collaborates with EVS to have isolation rooms/locations cleaned in a timely manner.PRE-OP 1.
Flags documents in patient chart for physician signature 2. Looks in AMPFM for patient arrival and coordinates timely arrival to the unit to avoid delays in procedure 3. Faxes scheduling orders from Healthpoint to Admitting to assure authorization number for procedure is obtained pre-procedure PACU 1. Updates the bed hold log 2. Works collaboratively with Interventional Radiology to receive schedule changes Coordinates and or schedules same day add on procedures 1. Monitors the fax and printer frequently for orders and patients to be scheduledPRE-OP 1.
Schedules PAT patients and obtains orders from offices 2. Calls admitting with OR add on procedures so the patient visit account is started 3. Calls families at home to obtain NPO status, move surgery time up if appropriate, and notifies OR HUC if family is able to move surgery time up PACU 1. Works with bed placement to assign beds or change bed assignments from unit to PICU 2. Works collaboratively with OR coordinator for in-patient, add-on procedures 3. Obtains Valley Anesthesia assignments from fax and provides to Anesthesia group, Pre-op, and PACU supervisor Provides support to other staff as needed 1. Anticipates needs of the team and helps to coordinate smooth unit operations with charge nurse 2. Follows compliance rules/HIPPA laws 3. Places requests for SCD devices or epidural pumps and other equipment, as needed, and receives to unit prior to patient arrival 4. Screens visitors for appropriate ID bands 5. Orders linen for the department 6. Places work orders in Sprocket for the department, keeps log and follows upPRE-OP 1.
Works with admitting to ensure consents from CMS are obtained pre-procedure 2. Enter orders for pre-op lab for Cath Lab patients Accomplishes necessary tasks in organized, systematic manner 1. Orders all necessary updated and current documents and office supplies for peri-op visit and files in an orderly manner 2. Maintains knowledge of current policy and procedure and ensures compliancePRE-OP 1.
Puts all charts together for same day add-on and next-day patient visit PACU 1. Organizes patient charts and searches for appropriate orders Department mail distribution 1. Checks the Phoenix Children's mail room for Pre-op/PACU mail 2. Distributes mail to appropriate recipient Performs miscellaneous job related duties as requested.
