Job Description

Description Service Director - Culver City, CA We are currently recruiting for a Service Director opportunity with a well-established organization in Culver City, CA. This is a full-time, onsite position ideal for someone who is compassionate, polished, highly organized, and comfortable providing exceptional service to families during sensitive and meaningful occasions. The Service Director works closely with Funeral Directors and other staff to coordinate and support funeral and memorial services from setup through completion. Prior funeral or mortuary experience is preferred but not required. Candidates with strong backgrounds in customer service, hospitality, events, guest services, or other highly client-facing environments are encouraged to apply.

Full-time, onsite | 8:00 AM-4:30

Must be available to work Sundays. Saturdays are typically off, along with one additional weekday. Responsibilities

+ Assist with the coordination and execution of funeral and memorial services from setup through completion

+ Prepare service areas, including flowers, programs, music selections, caskets, and other service details

+ Welcome and assist families, guests, and religious leaders in a compassionate and professional manner

+ Communicate with families and staff to ensure services run smoothly and according to schedule

+ Provide direction and assistance to guests throughout services

+ Speak comfortably and professionally in front of groups when needed

+ Anticipate family and guest needs while maintaining discretion, sensitivity, and confidentiality

+ Maintain service areas and ensure the facility remains neat, organized, and properly stocked

+ Assist with light housekeeping, including vacuuming, dusting, emptying trash, and general cleanup

+ Work collaboratively with Funeral Directors and other team members to provide a high level of service Requirements Qualifications

+ Strong customer service and interpersonal skills

+ Compassionate, empathetic, and comfortable assisting individuals during sensitive situations

+ Professional demeanor, appearance, and communication style

+ Comfortable with public speaking and interacting with groups

+ Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

+ Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and remain composed in a fast-paced environment

+ Strong judgment, discretion, and respect for privacy and confidentiality

+ Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team

+ Basic proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel

+ Funeral Director's license is a plus, but not required

+ Valid driver's license required

+ Ability to lift up to 20 pounds
