At Minnesota Cremation Services, we believe the first moments after a death matter. For many families, the Transfer & Family Care Specialist may be one of the very first people they speak with or see after losing someone they love. That interaction can stay with a family forever. The way you answer the phone, speak to a spouse, son, daughter, or parent, enter a home, and care for the person who has died all matter deeply. We are looking for someone who understands that this role is about far more than transportation. This is about showing up with compassion, patience, dignity, and calm during one of the hardest moments in someone's life. Minnesota Cremation Services was built to do things differently. The Role This is a four-day, primarily at-home on-call position:

•7:00 AM During your scheduled hours, you will manage incoming calls from families, hospices, hospitals, nursing facilities, medical examiners, and other care partners. When a call comes in, you may answer questions, explain what happens next, gather information, coordinate with our funeral directors, or respond in person to bring someone into our care. Some shifts may be quiet. Other shifts may require multiple calls and transfers. No matter what the day or night brings, families need to know someone compassionate and capable is there for them. Because of the on-call nature of this role and the need to respond promptly, you must live within 25 minutes of Rockford, Minnesota. You will also come into our Rockford facility a few times each month for administrative work, training, safety meetings, equipment checks, and other team responsibilities. What You'll Do Answer incoming calls and be a calm, reassuring presence for families during an incredibly emotional time Listen carefully, answer questions, explain what happens next, and help families feel supported and informed Gather accurate information and communicate clearly with our funeral directors and daytime team Respond to homes, hospitals, hospices, nursing facilities, medical examiners, and other locations when someone needs to be brought into our care Treat every person in our care with dignity and respect from the moment you arrive Interact thoughtfully with spouses, children, parents, caregivers, nurses, and others who may be present Safely complete transfers using proper equipment and procedures Maintain accurate identification, documentation, and chain of custody Communicate clearly with our team so families experience seamless care from the first phone call through the rest of the process Complete occasional research, administrative work, training, and other projects Keep vehicles, equipment, and our facility clean, organized, and ready for the next family Who We're Looking For We can teach someone our systems and processes. Compassion is harder to teach. We are looking for someone who genuinely cares about people and understands the responsibility that comes with being invited into such a personal moment.

Kind, patient, and emotionally steady Comfortable speaking with grieving families Able to remain calm when someone else is overwhelmed Dependable and responsive when a call comes in Comfortable working independently and managing calls from home Professional in homes, hospitals, care facilities, and every environment you enter Detail-oriented and committed to following procedures exactly Comfortable using computers, learning new systems, and researching information Physically capable of lifting, moving, pushing, pulling, and assisting with transfers Comfortable caring for deceased individuals A safe and responsible driver with a valid driver's license Someone your teammates can trust completely This is a physically active position. Although we use proper transfer equipment and procedures, you must be comfortable with the physical demands of moving and caring for deceased individuals, including lifting and maneuvering equipment. Previous funeral service, hospice, healthcare, EMS, caregiving, or customer service experience is helpful, but it is not required. We are willing to train the right person. You are often the first person from our company a family speaks with and, in many cases, the first physical representation of our company they meet. You help set the tone for everything that follows. A family may call you in the middle of the night unsure of what they are supposed to do. You may be the person who reassures them, answers their questions, and tells them what happens next. You may then walk into their home on one of the worst days of their life. They may remember your kindness, your patience, your words, and the way you cared for their loved one long after they forget everything else. That responsibility is something we take very seriously. Pay:
