Line Cook/Prep Cook Ramen Gaijin Sebastopol, CA Job Details Part-time $17 - $19 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications Kitchen health and safety standards Pre-cooking preparation Dietary aide experience Food service cleaning Attention to detail Full Job Description Overview Join our awesome team as a part-time Line Cook/Prep Cook! This position pays $17-$19 per hour, plus tips. Ramen Gaijin has been around since 2014 and continues to be one of the most recognizable restaurants in Sonoma County. We are expanding our hours of operation to include Sundays, so we're looking for two individuals who would like to pick up two days per week in our busy kitchen assisting with prep and working line positions, including pantry and Izakaya. This is a great opportunity to pick up new skills and join a team that functions like a dysfunctional - yet funny - family. While we'd prefer previous kitchen experience, we're willing to teach the right people. Duties Prepare ingredients by washing, peeling, slicing, dicing, and portioning according to recipe specifications Cook menu items with attention to detail, ensuring consistency and presentation standards are met Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, stoves, mixers, and food processors Follow food safety guidelines and maintain proper food handling procedures at all times Assist with ingredient inventory to support smooth kitchen operations Maintain cleanliness of workstations by cleaning utensils, equipment, and surfaces regularly Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation and ensure timely service The expected days for these two positions are (1) Saturday & Sunday and (2) Sunday & Tuesday. As we roll into our busy season, there will also be opportunities to pick up other shifts. Experience Previous experience in food service or restaurant kitchens is preferred as these stations can be challenging, but we're willing to teach the right people. Familiarity with dietary department procedures or dietary aide experience is a plus We prefer basic knowledge of food preparation techniques, including knife skills and slicing methods Experience in food safety management and adherence to safety standards in production environments Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety. This restaurant gets extremely busy, especially in winter, so speed is essential. Excellent communication skills to collaborate seamlessly with team members and kitchen staff
