Retail Showroom Assistant Tama Bell Design - 1.0 Sebastopol, CA Job Details Part-time $18 - $22 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications Customer communication Packing Merchandising Research Cash register Attention to detail Organizational skills Full Job Description About the Role We are looking for a thoughtful, organized, and personable Part-Time Retail Showroom Assistant to join our design studio and run the day-to-day operations of our showroom. Our showroom carries one-of-a-kind antiques and vintage pieces, alongside the work of our residential interior design studio. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys beautiful surroundings, connecting with people, staying organized, and taking pride in the details. The ideal candidate has an interest in antiques, interiors, and design, a welcoming personality, and the ability to move comfortably between customer service, retail responsibilities, and behind-the-scenes studio support. Responsibilities Showroom & Customer Experience Open and close the showroom on scheduled days. Welcome clients, customers, designers, vendors, and visitors to the showroom. Provide knowledgeable and friendly assistance to retail customers. Learn the history, materials, and condition of each piece and confidently answer questions. Process sales in Shopify POS and walk buyers through our policies and pickup agreements. Complete the end-of-day sales audit. Maintain a beautiful, organized, and well-presented showroom. Restock and restyle the floor as pieces sell. Assist with merchandising, displays, and seasonal updates. Package purchases and coordinate large-item pickups. Create a warm and elevated customer experience from arrival through purchase. Studio & Administrative Support Assist with receiving, unpacking, photographing, tagging, organizing, and storing merchandise and samples. Maintain accurate inventory and product information in Shopify. Assist with product research, pricing, and vendor information as needed. What We're Looking For A genuine interest in antiques, interior design, architecture, furnishings, and beautiful objects. Warm, confident, and personable communication skills. Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail. Reliable, responsible, and able to work independently. Comfortable interacting with clients and vendors. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a busy environment. Strong follow-through and a willingness to take ownership of responsibilities. Comfortable learning new systems and technology. Previous retail, showroom, hospitality, or design experience is a plus. Experience with Shopify or other POS systems is helpful but not required. Able to lift and move pieces up to 40 lbs within the showroom. The Ideal Candidate You are someone who notices when something is out of place and takes care of it without being asked. You enjoy creating an environment that feels considered and welcoming. You understand that a beautiful showroom is about more than what is on the shelves—it is about how people feel when they walk through the door.
Pay:
$18.00 - $22.00 per hour Expected hours: 20.0 - 25.0 per week
