What You'll Do As a Part-Time Cook, you'll help prepare and serve meals while maintaining high standards for food quality, cleanliness, organization, and sanitation.

Responsibilities include:

Prepare and cook a variety of meals according to established recipes and menus Prepare ingredients and complete food prep for scheduled meal service Help ensure meals are prepared accurately and served on time Follow recipes, portion guidelines, and food preparation procedures Prepare food that is attractive, appetizing, and consistent Operate commercial kitchen equipment and culinary tools appropriately Maintain clean and organized food preparation and cooking areas Follow proper food handling, storage, sanitation, and hygiene procedures Help prevent cross-contamination by following appropriate food handling practices Assist with meal preparation for special events, celebrations, and community functions Coordinate with other culinary and dining team members during meal preparation and service Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen throughout the shift Clean and sanitize equipment, utensils, work surfaces, and food preparation areas Assist with ingredient preparation and kitchen organization Communicate effectively with culinary and dining services team members Follow community policies and applicable food service requirements Assist with other culinary and dining responsibilities as needed What We're Looking For We're looking for someone who knows their way around a kitchen, takes pride in the food they prepare, and enjoys serving seniors.

Dependable and punctual Passionate about preparing great food Organized and able to manage multiple tasks Comfortable working in a commercial kitchen Knowledgeable about proper food preparation and food handling Familiar with kitchen sanitation and food safety practices Able to follow recipes and established menus Comfortable using commercial kitchen equipment Able to work efficiently during scheduled meal periods A strong communicator and team player Respectful and professional when interacting with residents and coworkers Willing to pitch in and help the culinary team when needed Previous experience in senior living, assisted living, healthcare dining, retirement communities, restaurants, commercial kitchens, catering, dietary services, or food service is highly desirable.
