Job Description

Summary:
Seeking a reliable, energetic line cook to join our kitchen team at a new neighborhood restaurant. You ll prepare dishes to recipe standards, maintain station cleanliness, and help deliver consistent, high-quality food during service.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes, portioning, and presentation specificationsSet up and stock assigned station before service; ensure mise en place is completeExecute orders accurately and in a timely manner during peak serviceMaintain food quality, consistency, and plating standardsFollow proper food safety, sanitation, and handwashing proceduresMonitor inventory at station; rotate stock and report low items to supervisorMaintain clean, organized work area and assist with end-of-shift cleaning tasksCollaborate with cooks, sous chef, and front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service flowAdhere to portion control and waste-reduction practicesAssist with prep work, receiving, and unpacking deliveries as needed
Qualifications:
Prior experience as a line cook or in a fast-paced restaurant kitchen preferred (0 2+ years acceptable for entry-level)Basic knowledge of cooking methods, knife skills, and kitchen equipmentFood Handler s card or willingness to obtain (if required by local regulations)Ability to read recipes, follow directions, and maintain consistencyCapacity to work evenings, weekends, and holidays; flexible scheduling
