The ideal candidate works well under pressure, takes pride in keeping a clean and organized station, and consistently prepares high-quality food according to established recipes and presentation standards. This position requires night and weekend availability, including holidays as needed. Responsibilities Set up and stock assigned stations before service. Prepare and cook menu items accurately, consistently, and on time. Follow recipes, portion standards, plating guidelines, and special instructions. Coordinate with other cooks, servers, bartenders, and management during busy service periods. Communicate clearly about orders, allergies, substitutions, shortages, and delays. Maintain a clean, organized, and properly stocked workstation throughout each shift. Follow all food-safety, sanitation, and cross-contamination prevention procedures. Label, date, store, and rotate food using FIFO (First In, First Out) procedures. Monitor food temperatures and ensure ingredients are stored safely. Reduce waste by following portion controls and properly handling ingredients. Restock the line and notify management when products or supplies are running low. Clean and sanitize cooking surfaces, equipment, utensils, coolers, and work areas. Complete opening, closing, and assigned side-work duties. Assist with food preparation, dishwashing, trash removal, sweeping, and mopping when needed. Support coworkers and other stations during high-volume periods. Qualifications Previous line-cook or restaurant-kitchen experience is preferred. Knowledge of basic cooking methods, knife skills, and commercial kitchen equipment. Understanding of food safety, sanitation, temperature control, and FIFO procedures. Ability to follow recipes and produce consistent portions and presentation. Strong communication, time-management, and teamwork skills. Ability to remain calm, accurate, and productive in a fast-paced pub environment. Dependable, punctual, and willing to help wherever needed. Food-handler or food-safety certification is preferred or must be obtained after hire. Schedule Requirements Night and weekend availability is required. Must be available for busy events, game days, and holidays as scheduled. Shift times and weekly hours may vary according to business needs. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and move throughout the entire shift. Ability to work around heat, steam, sharp tools, and commercial cooking equipment. Ability to bend, reach, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds. Ability to perform repetitive tasks safely and efficiently.
