Do you love cooking meals that fuel growing minds and healthy bodies? First Discovery Children's Academy is looking for a dependable, organized, and caring Preschool Cook to join our team. This is the perfect opportunity for someone who enjoys preparing nutritious meals while making a difference in the lives of young children every day. Our cook is an essential part of our school community, ensuring children receive healthy meals while maintaining the highest standards of food safety, cleanliness, and compliance. What You'll Do As our Preschool Cook, you will: Prepare nutritious breakfasts, lunches, and afternoon snacks following CACFP meal pattern requirements. Follow approved menus while preparing meals for infants through school-age children. Maintain accurate CACFP meal counts, production records, and required documentation. Keep the kitchen clean, organized, and compliant with all health department regulations. Order food and kitchen supplies while managing inventory and minimizing waste. Receive, store, and rotate food using proper food safety procedures. Monitor food temperatures and maintain sanitation logs. Accommodate approved food allergies and dietary restrictions. Work closely with the leadership team to ensure meal service runs smoothly. Required Qualifications Previous cooking experience, preferably in a childcare center, school, healthcare, or other high-volume food service environment. Strong knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and kitchen organization. Experience with CACFP guidelines. Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and stand for extended periods. Excellent time management and organizational skills. Dependable attendance and a positive attitude. Preferred Qualifications Georgia Certified Food Safety Manager Certification is preferred Experience working in a licensed childcare center.
