The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in food handling, meal preparation, and customer service, with a particular emphasis on dietary and culinary experience. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a dynamic environment focused on quality, safety, and innovative menu planning. The Cook Assistant will play a vital role in ensuring smooth daily operations, assisting with food preparation, and maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety. Responsibilities Assist in food preparation and meal assembly, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards. Support dietary department staff in implementing specialized meal plans and accommodating dietary restrictions. Help with menu planning by organizing ingredients, preparing ingredients for cooking, and maintaining inventory levels. Contribute to food safety practices by following proper handling, storage, and sanitation procedures. Provide excellent food service by serving meals efficiently while maintaining a professional demeanor. Assist with kitchen organization, cleaning, and maintenance to ensure a safe working environment. Support catering events by preparing food items, setting up serving areas, and ensuring timely delivery of meals. Skills Prior experience in dietary aide roles or dietary departments is highly desirable. Strong background in food handling, food safety protocols, and kitchen operations. Knowledge of menu planning, meal preparation, and culinary techniques including knife skills. Experience working in fine dining or restaurant environments with an emphasis on food presentation. Ability to perform food preparation tasks such as cooking, plating, and serving efficiently. Familiarity with catering services and large-scale food service operations. Excellent organizational skills combined with the ability to multitask effectively in fast-paced settings.
