Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Prep Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the kitchen by assisting in food preparation and ensuring that all ingredients are ready for cooking. This position is perfect for individuals who are passionate about the food industry and have a keen interest in culinary arts. As a Prep Cook, you will contribute to creating delicious meals while adhering to food safety standards. Duties Prepare and chop ingredients, including vegetables, meats, and herbs, using appropriate knife skills. Assist in the assembly of dishes and ensure that all items are prepared according to recipes. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace, including proper storage of food items. Follow food safety guidelines to ensure high standards of hygiene and sanitation. Support catering events by preparing large quantities of food as needed. Collaborate with chefs and other kitchen staff to ensure timely service during busy periods. Help with inventory management by checking supplies and reporting shortages. Experience Previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment is preferred but not required; training will be provided. Familiarity with dietary aide responsibilities is a plus. Knowledge of food safety practices is essential for maintaining a safe working environment. Strong teamwork skills and the ability to work efficiently under pressure are important for success in this role. A passion for cooking and willingness to learn new techniques within the restaurant setting will be highly valued.
