Full-Time About Phoenicia For over 50 years, Phoenicia has been a cornerstone of refined Lebanese-American cuisine in Metro Detroit. As part of the Chickpea Hospitality group, we pride ourselves on providing an upscale, white-linen dining experience characterized by meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality ingredients. We are currently seeking a skilled and disciplined Prep Cook to join our morning culinary team. The Role We are looking for a disciplined and efficient Prep Cook to join our culinary team. As the foundation of our kitchen operations, you will be responsible for ensuring that our line cooks have the high-quality ingredients they need to execute our signature dishes. This role requires someone who takes pride in their knife skills and understands the importance of food safety and organization.
Key Responsibilities Ingredient Preparation:
Wash, peel, chop, and portion vegetables, fruits, meats, and seafood according to established recipes and yield standards.
Recipe Execution:
Prepare sauces, marinades, and dressings, ensuring flavor profiles remain consistent with Phoenicia's high standards.
Station Setup:
Maintain a clean and organized workstation, following "First In, First Out" (FIFO) rotation methods for all stock.
Safety & Sanitation:
Adhere to all food safety regulations and sanitation standards.
Team Collaboration:
Work closely with the Executive Chef and Sous Chefs to complete prep lists efficiently and meet service deadlines. Qualifications Proven experience as a Prep Cook or in a similar kitchen role within a high-volume or fine-dining environment. Excellent knife skills and familiarity with various cooking techniques. Ability to follow complex recipes accurately and maintain consistency. Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask under pressure.
