Tigg's Canteen Services is currently seeking a Full-Time Permanent Lead Cook to work at both Grand Traverse County Jail in Traverse City Michigan . This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a kitchen environment, is comfortable taking on leadership responsibilities, and wants to be part of a team that makes a difference every day. What You'll Do As a Lead Cook, you will play an important role in the daily operation of the facility kitchen.Responsibilities may include:
. Working as part of a team in a structured correctional environment Preparing, baking, and cooking meals according to company standards Reading and following company recipes and established procedures Helping ensure meals are prepared accurately and on schedule Assisting with kitchen organization and maintaining a clean work area Assisting with kitchen clean-up and maintaining proper sanitation Qualifications Leading, directing, and assisting inmates within the kitchen A positive, dependable, and professional attitude The ability to work effectively in a structured correctional environment The ability to read, understand, and follow company recipes The ability to assist with food preparation, baking, cooking, and clean-up The ability to lift up to 50 pounds Requirements High school diploma or equivalent Ability to work weekends and holidays Flexibility to work varying days and hours, approximately 10:00 AM-6:00 PM Must be able to obtain clearance and approval to work inside the facility Previous food service or kitchen experience is a plus, but it is not required.
