MULTIPLE POSITIONS AVAILABLE

Cook 5/E6 Position Description This position functions as a cook, performing a full range of cooking and food preparation for the service of meals for prisoners and staff in a correctional facility using MDOC standardized processes, recipes, menus and reports. This position will work in the facility kitchens with prisoner workers. Cook 7 Position Description This position functions as a lead worker and oversees prisoner workers in the preparation and service of meals for prisoners and staff in a correctional facility using MDOC standardized processes, recipes, menus and reports. These positions are designated as Drug and Alcohol Randomly Tested (DART) positions.

EDUCATION

Education typically acquired through completion of high school.

EXPERIENCE

Cook 5 No specific type or amount is required. Cook E6 One year of experience in quantity cooking and food preparation. Cook 7 Two years of experience in quantity cooking and food preparation, including one year equivalent to a Cook E6.
