This is a part-time, non-exempt (hourly) prep cook position working in a team-oriented, fast-paced, guest-centric environment with the highest quality of food & drink. The position works daytime shifts of 9:00 - 2:30 pm at our fine-dining seafood restaurant in Clayton.Requirements & Expectations:
Minimum of 2 years, but preferably at least 3 years of prep cook experience. Candidates with fish/seafood preparation experience are preferred. Ability to successfully work as prep cook managing multiple prep projects at one time in a fast-paced environment Ability to maintain a clean and organized walk-in cooler and to ensure food prep areas/equipment are clean and sanitary Ability to understand/effectively label and rotate product to ensure freshness of food/ingredients Ability to handle knives, operate kitchen equipment, work around high heat/open flame Ability to follow recipe & presentation guidelines to ensure all prep is cooked and seasoned correctly Ability to prioritize prep items and communicate with the incoming shift regarding prep to complete for service Ability to effectively communicate with BOH team in loud environment Must have open availability (any day of the week), including weekends & some holidays Regular, predictable and reliable attendance is required Physical requirements include, but are not limited to: Physical ability to work on your feet, alertly, for extended periods of time Continuous use of hands and arms; continuous bending, reaching & twisting Physical ability to frequently lift up to 50lbs; ability to squat, kneel, and climbBenefits
