Job Description
Job Overview Join our dedicated dietary team as a Dietary Cook, where your enthusiasm and attention to detail will make a meaningful difference in the lives of our residents. In this vital role, you will support the dietary department by preparing and serving nutritious meals, maintaining sanitation standards, and ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all. Your efforts will help promote health, well-being, and comfort for our residents, creating a positive dining experience every day. Duties Assist in food preparation and meal service, following dietary guidelines and safety protocols Serve meals to residents with professionalism and a friendly attitude, ensuring proper portioning and presentation Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen and dining areas in accordance with food safety standards such as MSDH regulations Handle food safely, including proper food handling, storage, and manual handling techniques to prevent contamination or injury Support the dietary department with bussing tables, cleaning dishes, and sanitizing workspaces to uphold hygiene standards Use personal protective equipment (PPE) appropriately during all tasks to ensure workplace safety Assist with inventory management by checking supplies and notifying supervisors of stock needs Experience Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or the food industry is highly preferred but not required Experience working with geriatric patients or in dietary aide roles within healthcare settings is advantageous Ability to follow workplace policy and procedures. Strong time management skills to efficiently handle multiple responsibilities during busy meal times Background in dietetics or nutrition is a plus for understanding dietary restrictions and special meal plans preferred but not required Join us in creating a warm, safe environment where nutritious meals are delivered with care!
