Cook/Prep/Baker

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Line Prep / Cook-Baker to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in preparing ingredients, cooking dishes, and presenting them in an attractive manner. This position requires a passion for food, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment. As a Prep Cook, you will contribute to the overall success of our restaurant by maintaining high standards of food quality and safety. Responsibilities Prepare and chop ingredients according to recipes and specifications. Will be responsible for producing made to order, takeaway and eat in meals for a café style breakfast and lunch service. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including workstations and storage. Follow food safety guidelines and proper food handling procedures at all times. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation. Manage inventory of kitchen supplies and report any shortages or needs. Operate kitchen equipment safely, including knives, slicers, and mixers. Participate in menu planning by providing input on ingredient availability. Experience Previous experience in the food industry/kitchen/cafe environment is preferred. Familiarity with meal preparation techniques and culinary terminology. Knowledge of food handling practices and safety regulations. Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment. Strong knife skills and proficiency in using various kitchen tools. Experience in a restaurant or dietary department setting is a plus.
