ASSISTANT COOK Axia Care Center - Orange, New Jersey Axia Care Center is seeking a reliable and experienced Assistant Cook to join our Dietary Services team. The ideal candidate must be able to prepare and cook meals in a fast-paced healthcare environment while maintaining high standards for food quality, sanitation, and resident satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and cook meals according to approved menus, recipes, and production schedules Follow resident diet orders, portion requirements, and modified-texture guidelines Assist with meal preparation, tray-line service, and kitchen operations Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary work area Follow all food-safety, infection-control, and regulatory requirements Properly store, label, and rotate food products Work collaboratively with the Food Service Director and Dietary team Provide coverage as operationally needed, including weekends and holidays

Qualifications:

Previous cooking experience required Healthcare, nursing home, or long-term-care experience strongly preferred Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices Ability to follow recipes and prepare meals in large quantities Dependable, organized, and able to work effectively under pressure Must successfully complete all required background checks and pre-employment requirements
