Job Summary:
Procedures high quality and consistent meals in accordance to established menu cycles, recipes, and food standards. Supervise daily operations of the kitchen including meal preparation, purchasing, cost control, sanitation, safety, and staff training.
Responsibilities:
Assists with the receipt, storage, preparation and presentation of food as required by the Food Services Director and for adhering sanitation and safety practices for the community according to Jewish Home Assisted Living policies and procedures and federal, state and local regulations. Operates and maintains kitchen equipment in a safe and clean manner and in accordance with policies and federal, state and local regulations. Knowledge of local and state health and sanitation and safety codes. Knowledge of food handling, preparation, cooking, service and operation of all kitchen equipment. Observes safety and security procedures. Uses equipment and materials properly. Reports potentially unsafe conditions. Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness in work performed.
Experience:
3-5 years cooking experience for over 100 people Serv-Safe Certified Knowledge of Kosher guidelines (preferred)
