Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Line Cook to join our culinary team during the overnight graveyard shift. In this vital role, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality meals with precision, adhering to food safety standards, and maintaining a clean, organized kitchen environment. Your culinary expertise will help ensure that all food production meets our high standards for taste, presentation, and safety, delivering exceptional dining experiences for our guests. This position offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your skills in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen setting while supporting our commitment to excellence in food service. Duties Prepare and cook menu items according to standardized recipes, ensuring consistency and quality in every dish. Operate various kitchen equipment such as grills, pans, and food prep tools safely and efficiently. Follow food safety sanitizing procedures rigorously to maintain a hygienic work environment and comply with health regulations. Prep ingredients for the following day Handle food with care, practicing proper food handling techniques to prevent contamination and ensure freshness. Execute cooking techniques such as grilling, frying and other methods to produce diverse culinary offerings. Support dietary department needs by preparing specialized meals in accordance with dietary restrictions or guidelines. Ensure adherence to recipe specifications and portion control for consistent presentation and customer satisfaction. Clean and sanitize workstations, utensils, and equipment regularly to uphold food safety standards. Qualifications Previous experience in a food industry setting, especially in a diner environment is highly preferred. Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques. Proven ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently in a high-volume setting. Experience with food safety management practices and sanitizing procedures. Excellent knife skills and familiarity with various cooking tools are essential. Demonstrated ability to follow recipes accurately while maintaining high standards of quality. Food handling certification or equivalent training preferred but not required Ability to work overnight shifts consistently while maintaining energy and focus throughout the shift. Must have reliable means of transportation getting to and from work.
