Duties Assist in food preparation and cooking, including techniques such as poaching, braising, grilling, and other methods to produce delicious dishes. Follow established recipes and menu plans meticulously to ensure consistency and quality across all meals. Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including knives, stoves, ovens, mixers, and food processors. Maintain strict food safety and sanitizing procedures to uphold health standards and prevent contamination. Support in meal assembly and presentation for various service settings, including catering events and fine dining environments. Contribute to high-volume food production while adhering to portion control and recipe specifications. Help with food handling, storage, inventory management, and ensuring proper rotation of ingredients. Skills Previous dietary aide or food industry experience with a focus on food safety management. Strong knife skills and proficiency in various cooking techniques such as poaching, braising, grilling, and food preparation. Experience with menu planning, recipe adherence, and meal preparation in high-volume settings. Knowledge of food safety sanitizing procedures and operating commercial kitchen equipment. Familiarity with dietary department operations or catering environments is a plus. Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail. Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude toward learning new culinary skills and techniques.
