Job Description

Mr. Cat Brasserie is a lively French brasserie in Hudson, NY serving classic French fare alongside a spirited wine and cocktail program. Inspired by the energy of Parisian cafés and brasseries, Mr. Cat blends timeless traditions with Hudson Valley ingredients and warm, confident hospitality. We are currently looking for experienced Line Cooks to join our opening kitchen team. Our kitchen focuses on classic French techniques, seasonal ingredients, and consistent execution in a fast-paced brasserie environment. We are looking for cooks who are organized, collaborative, and committed to maintaining high standards of food quality and kitchen cleanliness.
Responsibilities:
Set up and stock food items and necessary supplies for service. Prepare ingredients by cutting, chopping, mixing, and preparing sauces. Cook menu items using a variety of techniques including grilling, sautéing, roasting, and frying according to established recipes and standards. Maintain cleanliness and comply with food safety and sanitation standards. Properly store and label food items while maintaining organized stations. Clean and sanitize cooking surfaces, equipment, and stations at the end of each shift. Assist with inventory checks and food storage logs as needed. Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure smooth and efficient service.
Qualifications & Skills:
1-2 years of experience as a line cook, prep cook, or restaurant cook preferred. Familiarity with a variety of cooking methods and kitchen procedures. Ability to follow recipes, directions, and kitchen systems accurately. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Culinary training or certificate is a plus but not required.
Physical Requirements & Schedule:
Ability to stand for long periods of time during service. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. Availability for nights, weekends, and holiday shifts. Flexible schedule and ability to work in a high-energy kitchen environment. If this sounds like you, we would love to meet you.
