Job Description

Job Summary :
Work with a team of bakers, cooks and prep staff in bakery, tavern, café and concession stand environments to produce large quantities of food in a fast-paced operation with a variety of fast-casual menu items. Assist in receiving deliveries, rotating stock and washing pots and pans as needed. May assist in monthly inventory counts. Assists in maintaining overall kitchen cleanliness and health code compliance.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Cook a specific portion of each order as assigned by Executive Chef, Head Chef or Team Leader.
  • Assemble customer orders and provides garnishment.
  • Assist with prep work, including but not limited to cutting, marinating, mixing and precooking foods.
  • Clean and sanitize all surfaces, including floors, with soap, warm water and sanitizer both during the shift and after the location's close in order to maintain sanitary conditions.
  • Assist in the set-up, organization and preparation and clean-up of both kitchen and specific cook station as assigned by supervisor. Assist with closing kitchen and station at the end of shifts.
  • Assist in stocking and maintaining inventory, including occasional ordering and receiving deliveries.
Minimum Qualification Standards:
  • 18 years of age or older
  • High School Diploma and/or Equivalent Vocational Training
  • 1+ years previous experience in cooking, kitchen staff, hospitality, preferred
  • Serve Safe Certification preferred
  • Equivalent combinations of education and work experience will be considered.
Equipment, Machines and Software Used:
This position requires the regular use of cooking utensils and equipment, including knives and a meat slicer. This position requires the occasional use of email.
Mental Requirements:
Light mental and visual attention required for performing work where there is some variety, but actions taken, and decisions made are limited to few possibilities. Work requires some coordination with others. Setting-up, regulating, and adjusting simple machines or processes.
