Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Dietary Aide to join our compassionate healthcare team. Duties Assist with food preparation, portioning, and serving meals according to dietary guidelines and resident preferences Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen and dining areas following food safety standards and JCAHO (Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations) regulations Operate kitchen equipment safely, including ovens, mixers, and dishwashers, adhering to workplace safety protocols Support meal delivery, bussing tables, and cleaning up after service to ensure a hygienic environment Follow all dietary requirements for residents with special diets or medical needs, including adhering to prescribed nutritional plans Handle food safely by practicing proper food handling techniques and manual handling procedures for heavy lifting or moving supplies Document meal service activities accurately and report any concerns related to food safety or resident needs Qualifications Prior experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or the food industry is highly preferred Knowledge of food production, preparation, sanitation, and serving techniques Familiarity with working with geriatric patients and understanding their specific dietary requirements Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and follow food safety standards including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) Basic math skills for measuring ingredients and portion control Excellent customer service skills with a caring attitude towards residents and team members Certification in CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) is a plus; ongoing training on workplace safety and sanitation is encouraged Join us in creating a warm, safe, and nourishing environment where residents feel valued and cared for.
