Overview Join our dynamic culinary team as a Lunch Cook and Dinner Prep Specialist, where your passion for food and dedication to quality will shine! In this energetic role, you will be responsible for preparing delicious, nutritious meals for lunch and dinner service, ensuring every dish meets our high standards of taste, safety, and presentation. Your culinary expertise will contribute to creating a welcoming environment for our guests and supporting the smooth operation of our kitchen. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your food industry experience and grow your skills in a fast-paced setting. Duties Prepare and assemble lunch and dinner meals according to established recipes and menu plans, maintaining consistency and quality. Operate various kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, slicers, mixers, and food processors. Follow strict food safety standards in handling, storage, and sanitation to ensure a clean and safe working environment. Assist with menu planning by suggesting creative ideas that align with dietary guidelines and customer preferences. Conduct food prep activities such as slicing, dicing, portioning, and garnishing to ensure timely meal delivery. Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and equipment through regular cleaning routines to uphold hygiene standards. Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation, special requests, and dietary accommodations. Support catering events or special functions by preparing large quantities of food while adhering to recipe specifications. Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies; notify management when stock needs replenishing. Qualifications Proven experience in food preparation within a restaurant or food service environment; dietary department or dietary aide experience is a plus. Strong knowledge of culinary techniques including knife skills, slicing methods, and recipe adherence. Familiarity with operating commercial kitchen equipment safely and efficiently. Understanding of food safety management practices and proper food handling procedures. Ability to work quickly under pressure while maintaining attention to detail in meal presentation. Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with kitchen team members. Prior experience in catering or large-scale meal prep is desirable. Pay:
$20.00 - $25.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
