Foundations Preschool is looking for a dedicated and dependable Childcare Cook to join their team. The ideal candidate will contribute to a positive, safe, and nurturing environment while supporting the daily operations of the center with professionalism and a strong sense of responsibility.

Key Responsibilities:

• The Food Specialist is responsible for overall food preparation for the school's enrolled children
• Plan and prepare snacks and meals in accordance with posted menus and CACFP Food Program
• Must be adaptable to menu changes and be able to meet meal and snack schedules
• Determine meal and snack count and distribute food to each classroom
• Remove trays and leftovers from classrooms and dispose them off properly
• Perform weekly food and supply inventory and submit orders to the CACFP Coordinator
• Ensure compliance with state and local health department, licensing, safety, and nutritional requirements
• Maintain personal hygiene, safety and sanitation standards
• Ensures safe food preparations and proper sanitation methods are used and maintains a safe kitchen/pantry area
• Create home-style, nutritional meal plans in the boundaries of their school's menu and budget, as well as state and federal requirements
• Distribute food to the classrooms following appropriate health and safety guidelines, and policies
• Keep the kitchen, appliances, cabinets, and inventory organized and clean
• Assist with weekly classroom toy sanitation
• Wash dishes, clean the kitchen, and conduct meal counts
• Drive a passenger van to drop off children at school in the morning (as needed)
• Follow the daily menu which incorporates

• Assist in classrooms as needed as a Floater, if required

Requirements:

• Valid driver's license and comfort driving a passenger van
• Valid work permit / visa / EAD to work in the USA
• Ability to complete a background check and fingerprints
• Food Handler's Card (or ability to obtain)
• CPR / First Aid Certification
• Comfortable with excel spreadsheets when meeting with CACFP Coordinator
• Team player
• Minimal to no call-ins

• Schedule:

  6-6:30 am to 3-3:30 pm (with one hour lunch break)
• Ability to lift-up to 25 pounds
• Basic math skills for inventory and ordering
• Ability to follow recipes and menus
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
