Full-Time / Part-Time Job Summary The CNA/Cook is responsible for providing compassionate direct care to residents while also assisting with meal preparation and maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary kitchen and dining environment. This position requires excellent communication, teamwork, attention to detail, and a commitment to resident comfort, dignity, and well-being. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Certified Nursing Assistant Duties

Provide personal care and assistance with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility.

Assist residents with eating, hydration, and positioning as needed.

Take and record vital signs and observe residents for changes in condition.

Report changes in residents' physical or emotional condition to the nurse or supervisor.

Maintain accurate and timely documentation of care provided.

Follow infection-control, safety, and resident-care procedures.

Provide respectful, compassionate care while protecting residents' privacy and dignity.

Assist with transfers, ambulation, and repositioning according to care plans.

Cook and Dietary Duties

Prepare nutritious meals and snacks according to menus, dietary requirements, and special diets.

Follow recipes, portion-control guidelines, and food-safety regulations.

Prepare meals that accommodate allergies, texture modifications, and physician-ordered diets.

Maintain clean and sanitary kitchen, food-preparation, and dining areas.

Properly store, label, and rotate food supplies.

Monitor food temperatures and follow safe food-handling procedures.

Assist with serving meals and maintaining a pleasant dining environment.

Wash dishes, clean equipment, and maintain kitchen supplies.

Report food shortages, equipment problems, or safety concerns to the appropriate supervisor.

Qualifications

Current CNA certification as required by the state.

Previous cooking or food-service experience preferred.

Experience working with seniors or in a healthcare, assisted-living, or long-term-care setting preferred.

Knowledge of basic food safety and sanitation practices.

Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

Ability to work effectively as part of a healthcare and dietary team.

Dependable, compassionate, patient, and professional.

Ability to lift, transfer, push, or pull as required by the position.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

Ability to assist residents with mobility and transfers.

Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and lift supplies or equipment.

Ability to safely perform both resident-care and kitchen duties.
