In this fast-paced position, you will support the kitchen by preparing ingredients, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring food safety standards are met. Duties Assist with food preparation by slicing, chopping, and assembling ingredients following established recipes and safety protocols Operate kitchen equipment such as mixers, blenders, ovens, and dishwashers efficiently and safely Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen areas, including washing dishes, sanitizing work surfaces, and disposing of waste properly Support meal assembly and plating to ensure timely service during busy hours Follow food safety management practices to prevent contamination and ensure proper food handling procedures are upheld Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate tasks and maintain smooth workflow Adhere strictly to safety standards in production, including proper knife skills and slicing techniques to minimize accidents Qualifications Previous experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for learning is valued Basic knowledge of food preparation, cleaning procedures, and kitchen equipment operation Familiarity with food safety standards in production environments Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with kitchen team members Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks Experience in food service or restaurant environments is a plus; culinary experience or catering background is advantageous Demonstrated attention to detail in following recipes and meal preparation guidelines This role is an excellent entry point into the food industry for motivated individuals eager to develop culinary skills while supporting a vibrant team dedicated to quality service.
